Roman theatre





In 1960 During searching for Alexander the great's tomp by removing the earth , accidentally they have found this building.
the process of exploration has took about 30 years
this building is belongs to the beginning of the fourth century AD and still in use till The middle of the seventh century that's what confirmed by the model of the architecture , the materials and elements which used in it .............
comparing with other buildings which built in the same age.
 and this tells us that the building passed by three different ages [ Roman ,Byzantine (Christian), and Islamic] therefore, varied uses ,
from age to another one that's what confirmed by Studies and different architectural additions in addition to the nature and characteristics of every age from this ages .
the building have a Stairs in the form of horseshoe or U letter.
 The building has been called by wrong as a theatre but compared studies between it and simulated theatres which founded in Greece and Italy , confirmed that its not a theatre because the building of the theatre  usually being In form of C letter or Or half circle even able to sit of view.
so that we should call the Roman amphitheater
