Akhenaten

 

Akhenaten 1353- 1336 BC , Akhenaten which mean Effective spirit of God Aten but the real name is Amenhotep IV ,son of Amenhotep III , and he succeeded his father after his death at the end of his 38-year reign .
after four years of reign, Akhenaten began building a new city to serve as the seat of the Aten the God of the sun , its buildings were decorated in a startling new style which was intended to express the tenets of the new worship.

he was married with queen Nefertiti who played  the role of mediator, between the God Aten and the people .and he is the father of Tutankhamun
in the sixth year of his reign (1347 BC). The king Akhenaten announced the principles of a new religion calls for the worship of one God and that was Aten God of the sun . and he represents it with Winged sun disk.
The last dated appearance of Akhenaten and the Amarena family is in the tomb of Meryra II , and dates from second month, year 12 of his reign. after this the historical record is unclear, and only with the succession of Tutankhamun is somewhat clarified.
There is much controversy around whether Amenhotep IV succeeded to the throne on the death of his father, Amenhotep III, or whether there was a coregency (lasting as long as 12 years
